I need some feed back I interviewed for a NP position, was told the offer was contingent on the interview with the MD who is coming from out of state had the phone conf this am, the chief financial officer stated they would get back with my recruiter this afternoon with an offer, I called the recruiter this afternoon she said they had the offer together that every one was in agreement about me that I would be a good fit but were waiting for the CEO to approve it and they could not get ahold of him so now I am wondering if they have changed their minds advice please

I wouldn't think so - these things take time sometimes. When I got my first APN job, it took approx 5 weeks to get everything together and then there was some haggling about compensation too.
well i just talked to the recruiter seems like the CEO is not answering emails or phone messages and he is the one who has to sign off on the offer the CFO is mad the recruiter is frustrated and I am hanging in the middle
If you have another offer in concrete terms then I would jump on it. Otherwise, if this is the job you want, I would hang in there.
I hate waiting too.
thanks this is the job i want but the recruiter and CFO are wondering what the hold up is with the CEO signing off on the offer. it is a small town hospital that is starting up a critical access hospital in il, the cfo and cno were told to get offers out to midlevels esp a pnp that would be me so they could have us on board mid dec ready to fire up jan 1. they know i need to give a 2 week notice and have time to move so it makes me wonder I like to see things move fast, the cfo said he would have the offer to me yesterday but with out the CEO who had to sign for mid levels no go
Got it - agree they might still have some other things in the fire. I would just sit back another day or so.

I don't have much in the way of seasoned advice, but I wanted to say GOOD LUCK! I hope everything works out for you. I'll be in your same boat very shortly as I'm beginning the process of finding a WHNP job soon! Well wishes sent your way!
any way here is more of the story evidently the offer is waiting to be given now the ceo has decided to put a halt to all interviews and offers no one knows why I talked to the cfo who interviewed me and he all he could tell me is that now the CEO wants to see all the resumes all the comments from the people who interviewed the candidates this job is for a critical care access hospital that needs to be up and running by Jan 1, the md who they are bringing in has made it clear unless she has a PNP on board the deal is off so who knows,I talked to the cfo he wants me on board as does the cno and every one i met during the interview who know

I had the same issues with a major teaching hospital in my area for Float Pool. Due to the economy EVERY hire must be approved by the VP and that means reviewing EVERY resume and all comments from interviewer. EVERY position MUST be signed off by the VP no exceptions. Original interview Oct. 28th and second interview Nov. 11th. Got offer end of business Nov.13th. Physical Nov. 18th and orient Nov. 30th.
It is the times we are living in. I have been looking for a position since Sept. 2008, sent close to 100 applications, interviewed in 8 places, no one ever responds after that. I am happy that this place was so professional. Just be patient. I am sure if the MD, CNO, and CFO all want you they will work it out with the CEO.
I know patience is a virtue I just get the feeling something is not right, I talked with another recruiter who was recruiting for the same job she told me that the person i had interviewed with told her last week that he has an offer pending on the CEO I just want to give my notice at work where i am now and go do what i went to school for PNP
