Hello all,
I have been a working as a med-surg nurse at a major NYC hospital for 2 years. Now that I have some experience under my belt, I would like to pursue other areas that I am interested in the nursing field such as OR, PACU, ambulatory patient etc. I had previously worked on a long term nursing home as a new grad for only two months before transferring to where I am working now. My question is, do you think I should include my two months experience of LTC in my current resume? Also what are some tips to making my resume stand out amongst the others? Unfortunately, I haven't done any volunteer work since graduating college nor am I on any committees at the hospital I work at. I did attend a nursing conference last year though. Thanks so much for all the help and support everyone !! :)
Anyone out there?

Hi,
I would include that on your resume. I think the main thing would be if you are able to explain why you had made the change. It will look good that you have two years experience at your current job at the hospital. I wish you the best in your job search. :)

Include the LTC, your two years on a busy med/drug will be a managers focus. Most of us have had a short term job we just didn't like or fit into. Good luck, and keep learning! Every experience will make you better.
Thank you! Appreciate the advice!
