This may be a stupid question. I am in the process of looking for a new job. On one of the applications it says what hours I would want. It has boxes for full-time, part-time, per diem etc. There is a box for 'pool'. I don't know what this means. Any idea? Thanks. Colleen

A pool is a group of nurses who work when a shift is avaiable, sometimes on short notice, such as a sick call.
Thank you. Colleen

It's sometimes synonymous with 'float', meaning you could work on multiple units/shifts. The pay is more of course.
