Hi!!
I'm applying to the cohort with the 12/01/13 application deadline. Not sure if it's the spring '14 or summer '14 cohort... have you submitted your application yet?? I'm in the process of submitting mine and hope to have everything together by this weekend to mail out. Do you know anything about JU's ABSN acceptance rate? thanks!
Hi! So am I. I think it starts in May but not sure since it doesn't say. I submitted the School app and got accepted. Just need to get a couple reference letters back so I can submit! It says on the site they don't actually start looking at any apps until the deadline though. I'm not sure about the acceptance rate. But I know that there are quite a few schools in FL that do ABSN so I think that means chances are better? If I got in, I would be moving from CA.
also, i think i saw some other posts from diff cohorts say there was about 40ish seats, and gpas were around 3.5 avg
Cool, I'm from CA as well. I really hope its not too competitive b/c my gpa isn't all that stellar but I do have great volunteer and hands-on patient care experience. I just submitted my application today so now it's the waiting game I'll have to play! it does suck that they won't start reviewing our apps until after the dec. deadline huh? I wish we could know sooner :\
Yeah it says: "All nursing applications are evaluated after the established deadline." They weigh in the interview, essay and recommendation letters too so I wouldn't worry too much. The good part is that I think all the applicants who have the minimum criteria get interviews and because we're so far its via Skype, which is nice that it's one on one rather than a group setting like their normal ones. I believe those start Jan-Feb...so something to look forward to. I've done a lot of forum stalking as you can tell lol.
Thanks for the info! I really hope I get an interview and accepted! and yeah I know what you mean about 'forum stalking'... I've been going on allnurses.com almost everyday reading different forums and what people have to say lol
No Problem! I'll keep you updated if/when I hear something which I'm sure wont be for a few months.

I sent my application in just the other day I live about 45 minutes from JU so it should have arrived already. My girlfriend started there BSN program this Fall. I went to her orientation, very nice group of professor and students. She loves the place and picked it over UNF. My Cumulative is 3.6, my pre-req is 4.0, and I have 500 hours of volunteer experience and I work as a licensed Pedorthist. I have a good feeling. What are all your stats? Also what made you choose a school so far away from where you live? just wondering. Best of luck. Also they admitted 62 students out of 800 applicants last round.

Am I allowed to apply if i finish APII this fall? And I just noticed you have to take an intro writing class. Do they have any substitutes for that class? Thanks. Good luck to everyone.
Yes, pretty sure you are. You can always email admissions. They're really nice and respond back pretty quick.
My GPA's are around 3.5-3.6 and also have volunteer experience here and in thailand. I chose to apply to schools where I had family/friends around so it would be a lot more doable and JU made the cut. I read its a really good school... def did not think they would have as many as 800 applicants though.
Ahh gotcha. Yeah that 800 sounded high to me too, but that was straight from the director of admissions during my girlfriends orientation in August. They did say that applications are at an unprecedented level, all the people that have no interest in medicine/nursing but have been told its a good career irritate me lol. My girlfriends class has already had 5 drops so now they are down to 57 total. Hopefully we all get some good new starting next year and can meet during our own orientation. There is a lot of group work and being close to your classmates seems to really help.
