What meds are SLOW IV PUSH and which meds are FAST IV push ( I know adenosine) ?

I’ve search online but can’t find a comprehensive list.

I’ve always heard “ if you don’t know, you go slow”.

thanks!

"If you don't know, look it up."

Many EMRs include facility-approved point-of-care info without even leaving the EMR. Some places even have their relevant policies available with an active link from the eMAR. In the inpatient world at least, you also have the option of speaking to the pharmacist on duty if you need clarification or can't find the information you need.

Can you give more of a context so we understand why it would be necessary for you to have a list like you're talking about rather than just quickly looking up the most current information for the drug you will be administering?

Good idea! I just wanted a quick reference for a worksheet we needed to complete for school.
thank you!

Look in a drug book. You will find thousands of drugs that can be given IV push, and each has its own rate and special considerations.
