Congrats! Hi guys, I am new here and I am still figuring out the site. I am 29 years old, married and has two boys. It has been over 10 years since the last time I'm in the school. I decided to go to college last semester, and thought of Nursing. I am doing my prerequisites right now and so far I've been getting A's. This coming Fall, I am thinking of taking Chemistry 135 and Bio 168 at the same time. I did hear that A&P is pretty hard course. Any advice for me? Would that be a bad idea to take them at the same time?

Hello and welcome to Allnurses.com!
Taking certain classes together is totally dependent on your previous academic preparation and ability level. If you feel you can handle it and earn 'A' grades in both classes, go ahead and take them simultaneously.
However, many people would play it same and take the classes in different semesters so as to devote more time to them. Good luck to you!

I am in the same boat returning after much longer than 10 years ( 25 to be honest). You can do this!! I did all my pre reqs 2 classes at a time and it was hard but doable. Just be sure to focus on school! It's easy to be distracted and pulled away by household chores. Let the dust sit, order dinner out once a week to give you a break and focus on what you need to do to succeed.
A and P is hard but so interesting you forget it's hard. I am amazed at how much I didn't know. I watched a lot of crashcouse on youtube and found lots of games to play like wack a muscle and wack a bone to take the edge off studying and make it more fun. Good luck!

Good day, and welcome:
I just turned 50 this past May; and the last time I was in school was 1984.
I'm not sure if I could relate going back to getting on a bike after a long time off one; but it is close.
You will get there.
Check if the school has note taking, studying, etc. workshops you can take.
There are also a lot of good tips on this site along with solid people willing to help you.
Thank you.

I was 47 when I started my pre reqs, and will be 50 this august when I start the nursing program. It took a while to get my groove back, but now I am a straight A student. That sure didn't happen straight out of the gate. And the chances of me maintaining straight As in nursing school, from what I have heard, are slim to none. But at least I know I can do this..... age has nothing to do with it! It's just about how you delegate and prioritize. Enlist the help of people in your life, let them know how important this journey is to you.
