When did nursing school turn me into suck a suck-up?
I have a group project due tomorrow on melanoma. To go along with our PowerPoint presentation, I made sugar cookies.
Instead of smiley faces, they are frowning because they have a big chocolate chip melanoma on their cheeks. I figure my classmates can pretend the cookies are patients and do the ABCD's on the chocolate chip moles.
Maybe I should start a business based on this idea? Nurses could use bakery products as teaching aides!
A kidney-shaped cookie with a hazelnut for a stone or a lung-cookie with fudge for tar from smoking.
Geez, I don't think I'm getting enough sleep or something. I've gone plain looney!

Somebody had bagels with peanut butter for a presentation on ostomy appliances....I still can't look at bagels the same way LOL
You're not a suck up...I think it's a GREAT idea!!

For my teaching project, I brought crayons and coloring pages for Kidney Stones because my patient had the mindset of an 8 yr old and I felt like teaching him was just as important as teaching his car giver!! lol I like your idea!! It is creative.

I gave out the syringe pens for our needlestick safety presentation. Everyone loved it. It makes it memorable in people's minds. (I'd have much rather had cookies)

That is such a great idea. Don't worry about being a suck-up. I am sure everyone enjoyed the cookies.

It would be sucking up if you make cookies only for the instructors. Since you're making them for the class, you're being a good classmate. So don't worry and enjoy them! :)

No - You're right on target! The biggest challenge in any educational activity is trying to get people to participate. Even the best program cannot be successful if no one shows up! Keep up the good work - nursing is lucky to have creative & enterprising people like you!
