Hurray! First moon flower ingestion of the season yesterday. 17 year old kid who tried to bite us the entire way to the ER as well as pull his foley out (maybe should have let him) despite leathers, cot straps and an Ativan drip! This is the second time we've transported this kid for this! First time this year though. Here's the ringer. When he finally gets lucid enough to put two words together here's what he said. "Uh, I think I'm going to sell the rest of the seeds to my friend and just stick to marijauna". So he wants his friend to go thru what he did. Nice!:smackingf

For everyone wondering what moonflower is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datura_inoxia
I've heard rumors of people ingesting it, but never believed it was popular enough to have its own season!
Oy. :selfbonk:

I've seen two, both teenagers, in the last 3 weeks or so,....doesn't look like a pleasant experince to me!!!! Hallucinations are awful and both of these kids acted terrified for hours !!!
Is it the same as gypsum weed?
Not the same as Jimson weed but similar results. Toxic hallucinogenic that takes forever to clear the system (12-24 hours). The reason we call it Moonflower season is that the moon flower vines have gone to seed and many kids just hop on over to grandma's to "help her with yardwork". I have Moonflower on my fence because it's gorgeous and smell wonderful. I just refrain from eating it.

I've never heard of this before. Geez, the things people will do to themselves!
When I was younger, young folks were picking mushrooms off cow pies and making tea or smoking them to get high. Bleccch!:uhoh21:

Reminds me of taking care of the OB back in the day of twilight sleep. Hallucinations were common (from scopolamine).
