Hi.
I'm wondering if anyone else here has recently tried to renew their ANCC certification and run into problems?
I was first certified almost five years ago, and it's time for me to renew. When I try to renew my FNP certification online, I keep getting the message that I have no certifications on record (?) which I don't understand; I am ANCC certified. I've tried calling the 800 number multiple times, and there is just a recording; any option I press, I get the message "Our office is closed", and then the call is hung up. Huh?!
Anyone with advice?
Thank you!

Hi Karen.
I emailed them a week ago, and no response yet. I'll try again tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Your fingers should not be crossed when you want to give them money! Some way they know you will keep calling .
They are probably looking at bigger cash cows with Magnet status. I was very active with ANA, on a local board, attended conferences and represented them on a task force on AIDS that met weekly and cost me a tremendous amount $ for long distance phone calls.
I also represented them on a board and I called to say I was retiring, and no one knew about my appointment.
Their position and workforce has drifted to $$$$ credentialing and the more lucrative Magnet status. And you have to join to somehow afford the credentialing test! Double dipping.
If they represented the average nurse, where was their outrage with the limitation of PPE? Ohh they wrote some CEU on how to deal with Covid (something they did not need to get out of the office or leave their homes for). I supported them for so many years but all I get in my retirement is a crappy discount from Geico from my ANA membership.
Oh here are their promises:
Quote Advance your career with free development resources and webinars; Stay current with the most up-to-date nursing news; Save money with big discounts on CE, certification, publications and more; Network and connect with Registered Nurses (RN) for support and advice; Make your voice heard with opportunities to tell policymakers what you think; and Receive state nurse association member benefits.

How did any of the above make my professionall life better? We need a new national leadership organization. Some organization that cares for the working nurse and isn't invested in the funds for certifications and magnet status and cares about US.
(The organization will always focus on Magnet because that is where the $$ is).
