Hey Everyone!
I've been reading a lot of the posts on here about Online vs. B&M schools and I was wondering: Is simmons college online fnp program considered a good school/program?

I attend Simmons currently and am working Full time on the weekends. I am in my 4th term out of 7, and am set to graduate December 2017.
Simmons is a great flexible option, especially if you can't afford to work any less than full time. The classes are live every week where you webcam in, and it gives you the feel of a live classroom. You are called on for questions, and you take your exams proctored (no cheating possible). They offer plenty of scheduling options to work with your schedule. They have an amazing pass rate (100% I believe, although I'm not certain). They deliver adequate online resources through their website and you are given asynchronous material to study (powerpoints, video lectures, etc). They also have clinical placement specialists who work with you to get you placement into local clinicals which meet requirements. I start clinicals next semester, but it is common for Simmons students to be complimented on their preparedness by their preceptors, with many getting "I've never had a student as ready as you before" - although that's all heresay, and I cannot give anecdotal personal experience since I start clinicals in January. You complete an on-campus immersion weekend shortly before you start clinicals where they test your physical examination and make sure you are fit to take care of patients in the clinical setting.
Some limitations of the school is its expense (almost 70K), more research classes than I'd like (3 total), some classes I didn't find very helpful or interesting (research + health promotion and family theory), and depending on where you live there may be some difficulty procuring a clinical placement that isn't a bit of a drive.
Overall i I think the program is worth it. Yes I've had my frustrations with it at times but in the end I'm glad I chose Simmons and I know that it is preparing me well.
Hope this helps!

Hey! Williamkelly92, are you doing the full time or part time? I just got accepted to the full time program and I'm starting to wonder if I made a mistake doing FT.
