I am in my last semester of nursing school to get my ADN and I have never failed a nursing test. I have done really well. With that being said, I have heard ALOT how if I do that well on tests during school that the NCLEX will be a walk in the park. Is that true for anyone who has taken and passed the NCLEX? Is it really "easier" than nursing school exams?

Granted, it's been several years since I took the NCLEX, but no, I didn't think it was the "easiest" nursing test that I ever took. However, there is a reason that those people say this. Having studied while in nursing school, they were prepared to write the NCLEX.
Best wishes.

I think the questions on NCLEX are more straight forward (less details than nursing school). Important to not try to add or think too much into the question stem.

Depends on your nursing school exams, my nclex was fairly straightforward but I went to a school where our exams were tough, so in comparison it was "easy", but remember there are many people who fail the nclex and I'm sure they would not sayit the easiest test they've taken, it all come down to how you were prepared and how you do taking tests.

When I took NCLEX, there were 15 beta questions (don't count) in the first 75 questions. It starts you out above the pass line. You could alternate between getting questions right and questions wrong and answer all the beta questions wrong and pass at 75 questions. Which means you could answer 30/75 questions (40%) correct and still pass. What exam in nursing school can you get 40% and pass?
Nursing school should over prepare you to take NCLEX. We were gradually introduced to more and more NCLEX style questions each semester. We had to do 200-300 NCLEX questions in our final semester and had 5 weeks to study after graduation to study before taking the test. We were far more prepared to take NCLEX than any individual nursing test.

I took it a couple years ago. No it's not an easy test and I hate all the different type of questions. When my sister took it like 20 years ago they were all just multiple choice. When I took it I had a lot of satas, some priority, hotspots, ordering, and reading heart monitor waves. The heart monitor sata was my second question and it freaked me out. I literally had to take a moment to give myself a pep talk. Just remember not to read into the questions. Remember its a perfect nclex world. I passed in 1.5 hours with 75 questions but I took 3 months to study a lot before I took it. I didn't use any program like uworld. I just checked out all nclex books at library and used every online free source I could. I did so many questions that i literally just started to think like the nclex does. Might not work for everyone but I know what works for me.

The NCLEX is not easy. I passed in 75, but I only felt 100% on less than half of the questions.
Ideally, nursing school should prepare you to eliminate answers and prioritize to the point of at least paasing NCLEX.
But its just not the type of test you walk away from feeling like you aced it, even if you did ace it.
