Hello everyone!
I have been stuck in a rut and feeling very down lately. Maybe venting on here and receiving suggestions/advice from you all will help.
So a little about my background...
I just turned 27 and I have a B.S. in Health Education - Community-based Public Health and a Master's in Healthcare Administration. I thought that in obtaining my master's, I'd have an easier time advancing in the public health field because I wanted to get out of the non-profit world as a health educator (pay is sooo low for all the work I do). However, I have had no luck at all because positions require 5+ years experience in program coordination, supervisory experience, etc I am currently full-time working in a cancer clinic, but being behind a desk all day for 8 hours is not what my passion is! I like interacting with people, educating others about health, something along the lines of public health! I LOVED working as a health educator, but pay was low and there was no room for advancement.
So, I recently discovered that a Public Health Nurse exists! I am completing chemistry this spring semester which I am surprised I am doing really well in a science course?! I plan to take stats and psychology online this summer, juggle anatomy & micro in the fall, and lastly take physiology next spring in hopes to get accepted into an accelerated BSN program. I just want to get a CAREER I am passionate about going, cause lord knows I am not getting any younger!!
The major problem here is, I HAVE to sustain a full-time job in order to pay my bills AND I am also saving/planning for my wedding next fall.... while juggling ALL OF THIS?!
Am I crazy? Is this the right path for me? Is it worth it? Am I wasting time? Am I too old? Is it do-able? Please help.
Sorry long post, but I would love all of your feedback!! :)
