Is it really this hard for Filipino nursing graduates to transition working as US RN?

Published

Okay so I passed NCLEX, and now I'm in US, the problem is I now find myself so lacking. Can I possibly survive working here. I'm a new grad with no experience. So what, tell me my life isn't doomed. Thank you so much

US nursing grads are having a hard time finding jobs in this economy. So it's no surprise that an immigrand from the Phillipines cannot find a job.

Are you lacking a job or lacking confidence?

Are you lacking a job or lacking confidence?

Or lacking skills/knowledge?

There are thousands of US nurses looking for work, as a previous poster noted. Did you come here without researching first? Below is a link that shows (if you scroll down) just what type of competition you are up against and that is just in one state. We have more than enough nurses in the US now and for decades to come

kabayan,

r u there with work permit or just looking 4 employer now? why is it filipino grad nurses only think of usa? lots of other countries where you can start to work as a nurse. why go to a country where its economy is under fire?

As the previous posters have already said.... there is NO nursing shortage in the USA. In fact, its the opposite. We have too many nurses now. I would look at other countries for better opportunities.

Okay when I posted this, I wasn't looking for more pain. I thought this site is supposed to encourage if not just be kind to all nurses without bias. I am an American too, I wonder if I'd mention that if I'd have gotten more consideration than slapping me with get out of our country we don't need you kind of answers.

You entitled your thread.

People are only responding to what you said in the thread you started. Nobody can tell you what doesn't exist, exists. Unless you want to hear that tomorrow you will find everything to your liking. It is the same for everyone.
