Is NCSBN a good course to take? What course would you recommend?

Published

Hey everyone,

I am trying to figure out which course is the best course to take to pass the NCLEX.

Thanks!

I'm taking it now and I only have two more days to study it's helpful, but a lot of reading.

Honestly I purchased the NCSBN review course to study for the NCLEX and I did not find it helpful at all. I'm not sure if you used ATI in school but I studied from the ATI books and did questions everday from Saunders review books till my test date and I just found out 6/20/2010 that I passed after only 75 questions.

Good luck :)

I read from Saunders, Exam Cram and the NCSBN too. So all 3 are helping me but I read the Saunders book first and went from there. I do want to know are the NCLEX questions similar to EXam Cram or NCSBN? Just curious is all.

Any review course will be helpful as long as you put forth the effort to work hard at preparation after you have finished the course.

I used NCSBN to review, mostly to do questions and Saunders for content. NCSBN has A LOT of in depth reading. I took the NCLEX on Tues and stopped at 75, I find out my results tomorrow (I got the good pop up). The questions are most like NCSBN, but honestly they are not like anything I used (Kaplan, I CAN, Saunders, Hurst). Best Wishes!

I just purchased NCSBN for my NCLEX-RN. I jumped right into it and did the pretest. I only scored 60% So I was disappointed! But I will work hard and hopefully this and exam cram will help me pass my 2nd time around. I just hope i get my new ATT so I can get it scheduled... of course after my 45 day wait... after July 24th!

i would like to try the ncsbn...could u guys give me the website...Thanks!

Good Luck

I tried it...I did use it. But I then switched to Kaplan Q bank. Questions are much more NCLEX like in my opinion. I found quite a few errors in NCSBN believe it or not.(Spelling, grammar and content!) Kaplan really prepares you, this is evidenced by 5 students to take and pass NCLEX so far from my program, all passed in 80 questions or less...The plus is that Kaplan materials even look like NCLEX so when you sit for the real thing, you feel more comfortable. Good Luck!

I'm taking it now... I find it helpful as far as a refresher. Questions are sorta similar to NCLEX. I failed on June 14th with 265 questions so retaking August 1st!

Have you looked into the Hurst review? I took NCSBN and didnt like it at all, to the point where I didn't even get half done. I took boards today with 75 questions and got the good pop up, and felt really prepared with Hurst. Hope this helps.
