hello everyone i just regestered so I can post this question....I have looked online all day and couldnt find any answers..
Has anyone heard of or is going to MINNAY EDUCATIONAL SERVICES online school. I was looking online and they do have CNA-LPN program then you can do LPN-RN and it says its all self paced. Is this too good to be true?
I did start a LPN program but 3/4 into it I failed a check off. Completely devistated Im trying to pick myself back up. I can reapply at the school but have to wait like a year plus i would rather do it online and start ASAP.
So my plan would be do my CNA-LPN at minnay educational services then do my LPN to BSN at Indiana state university.
I live in colorado and I am not sure if this is all a fantasy or something that could really happen?
does anyone know???? is minnay a legit school?
plus where do i find accredited LPN and RN programs for my state,

Their CNA to LPN program is only for California residents, according to their site, and you have to have 5 years of documented acute care CNA experience. As for the LPN to RN program, Minnay is really just selling study materials for students to do Excelsior College's program.
I would avoid Minnay. I bought their A&P and Micro materials in 2007, and they were loaded with spelling errors, as is their website. Not very professional.

Minnay educational services is legit because I'm in NC, I was a cna for 11 years, i used them to transition to lvn by doing their pharmacology course, my application got evaluated by california nursing board and I was approved to seat for nclex-vn back in 2009. I got licensed as an LVN back in aug 24 2009, I am working towards my rn using excelsior college which is also online and I have two courses to finish. I would try avoid personal prejudice to deny people life time opportunities bc of lack of adequate information, I didn't knw anythng about them till somebody at work told me about them and literally my life has changed and I am about to achieve and realize my goal in life. If you are a cna and not in ca, this is the only way to quickly transition if you do not want to attend school full time, its only available in ca, but its not only for ca residents, I am an example of somebody outside ca who got CA LVN licensure and minnay is one of the schools that offer this program among many. you do not need acute care experience...that's completely misleading information, you need general nurse care for 48 months, which my nursing home experience sufficed that and six weeks in peds and maternity check here for your reference (http://www.minnay.com/programs/vn/lvn.html).
can't say much about spelling mistakes on micro and ap, I am exclusively using their excelsior material and so far I have passed ap, micro, abnormal psychology and 6 nursing core using their material only...I am a firm believer of their material as you can tell I use nothing else except them.. I have lifespan 3 and trends of professional nursing remaining to finish the program and do my cpne. Its true there are some spelling mistakes that i consider minor compare to what i really need for their price, i tried other companies but i was not impressed either by their prices or a contract.

I also think its not right to trash a program based on limited information, I am new here, but me too I consider myself as a product of Minnay Ed. Serv, I worked my way up from CNA to NP using most of their programs, courses and products. Even at the NP graduate program at Mobile, AL I still used lots of their products and they were ready to customize some few things just to meet my needs, very few companies will do that for you these days. To say its not legit I think that is outrageous, to say its not professional, mhh that's personal opinion but I would not put it in the public forum to be read by everybody based on spelling mistakes, to recommend people to avoid it, I would personally think that too is very aggressive because some of us made a major leap in life and in nursing profession because of their work and I believe many people out there might have the same feeling. Again, I would say everybody is entitle to her/his opinion and this is just my personal story and major part of it is because of minnay educational services. I am a part time nursing faculty here in IL and I always recommend my students to get minnay resources all the time and it makes their learning much more easier. Constructively, I did email minnay in the past to help them with areas that I felt had some issues and they gladly involved me in the reviewing of their chronicity and reproduction study guide for EC students, it took a chunk out of my time but I thought to myself rather than sitting and complaining I could be of help to somebody and make valuable contribution, that's just a thought.

I did not "trash" anything. I referenced what Minnay had on their site for the CNA to LVN. And I still think selling academic materials full of spelling errors is unprofessional. As I said, my experience with their products was 4 years ago, so hopefully they've improved. Congrats to you both on your success -- that is great.
Your mileage may vary.
