What do you all think?... is it better to refuse a job offer and tell them it's because you got another job offer or tell them it's because of the drama in the work place..... Here is what happened.....
During the interview I told "xyz" that I was waiting to hear back from "abc" but they did not get back with me so I moved forward and ended up in the interview for "xyz".then .... "xyz" hired me and from day one the gals I worked beside and training me would not even look me in the eye, answer my questions with much detail and wouldn't let me help do anything... One of them even disrespected me and hollered at me in front of doctor for something totally uncalled for.. The nursing supervisor found out and apologized for their behavior and told me they weren't happy I was there because the spot I was hired for was for one of them and she didn't want to go... so the supervisor moved me to another area to train with someone else.. Asked me to think about it and she wouldn't blame me if I quit but to let her know by AM... Well that very day, I got a call from "abc" and they offered me the job I had been waiting for since 6 weeks back.. working for federal gov... I don't know what to tell "xyz" they are calling begging me to come back and that gal called me crying and apologizing to me.... wow.. I don't know what to tell them.. Any advice?

Yeah, short and sweet. Say, thanks XYZ but I think I have found a better fit. No explanation necessary. It's your life, it's their drama. Leave it behind and move on. Absolutely no reason to feel guilty. They wouldn't have to beg if they knew how to manage.

You simply got a better offer. You are leaving solely for the better opportunity.

Loelei's post was awesome! If you have the opportunity to leave drama without being part of it, that's excellent!

I totally agree..but you should definitely leave on a good note. Resignation letter, maybe and two week notice if you could. You may have to work with those same people later.
Plus, from what I'm told, federal jobs are pretty secure and comfortable.

Life has enough drama......you don't need to deal with this level of bull **** in the work place. And the chic that called up crying....oh please! These people need to learn there are indeed consequences for such immature and unprofessional behavior.
I agree with leaving on a good note.. that is always my goal.. just couldn't find a way to give notice with this situation.. had to make decision fast... but I always try to. Thanks for the advice,..

How long did you work? One day? It sounds like form your post it was a very short period of time. Thus, this job does not need to be on a resume for later opportunities... ONLY give x,y,z notice if you can give the feds a 2 week start date! Otherwise, do not bother.... let the bridge burn.. they are going down in flames anyway!
I worked there 3 days.... I'm embarrased about leaving after just 3 days.. I don't agree with starting a new job and quitting like that, especially so soon. but, I had those issues going on and the supervisor came to me to talk about it, I didn't go to her and complain, Then, believe it or not, I get a call that day offering me a job with the place I had been waiting on for 6 weeks and didn't think I got it because it took so long,..,I wouldn't of taken another job if I thought there was a chance or that happening..totally surprised me.....
I would offer them a notice but since I have only worked there 3 days it wouldn't do them a bit of good, only harm..Its just a no win situation.. except I go offered a fed job.. and since I couldn't give notice I have NO job while I wait, and wait for them to call me to move forward,,UUGHH..

A simple note stating that something you had previously applied for came through unexpectedly, and that given the circumstances, you feel it would a better fit for all parties. Simple, classy and the truth.
Good luck, and I hope the new job IS a good fit! :)
