I personally found Saunders to be very helpful while I was studying for the NCLEX, mainly because I liked having the rationales to refer to when I got a question wrong. The only ATI material I used was the online practice tests. I found the ATI books too confusing because of the amount of information crammed in.
Take a look at NCSBN (National Council for State Boards of Nursing) learning extension. I used them as well. They have practice tests you can purchase to help you study for the NCLEX.

I agree with pink rabbit. I did both and liked Saunders better.
Good luck!
