Hello Everyone I have a dilemma. I am working part-time at a Assisted Living Facility and was recently offered full time employment at a Home health company as a Quality Assurance nurse. I gave notice at my part time position because there was no way to do both due to the hours. 1 week prior to starting the new position I received a e-mail that regretfully the position that was offered to me is no longer available due to being investigated by the Department of public health and they want to protect MY license. Now I have no job. I don't know what to do now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks:crying2:

If you gave the ALF notice and you are in good standing, then ask for your job back. Just explain that your situation has changed and that you would like to rescind your resignation. Good luck.
That is what I was thinking about doing, but how would that look to the ALF that I am only there because I don't have a choice. I guess I will try a job is better than no job.

What difference does it make what they think? I'm sure if you are in good standing and they haven't filled your position they will take you back. It costs money to hire new staff.......orientation and preceptorship, etc. Give it a try, you have nothing to loose and job to gain!

I totally agree with kayern. Besides, everyone understands when a person prefers full time over part time (or vice versa) and also understands when things don't work out.

Do try to get the old job back. I know several people who have quit, gone elsewhere and then be hired back to my hospital.
