I am so torn in between these colleges, itt tech, concorde and dallas nursing institute. Is their anyone enrolled in their RN programs right now? If so how is it going for you? Do you think you are getting the proper teaching? Please someone help me, I am getting very frustrated with trying to figure out which route to go. Thank you

The nursing programs at ITT Technical Institute are unaccredited. The nursing programs offered by Concorde Career Institute are unaccredited. The nursing programs offered by Dallas Nursing Institute are unaccredited.
I wonder why your planned 'route' does not include accredited schools of nursing with better reputations? In Dallas you have El Centro, Trinity Valley Community College, TWU, TCU, TCC, Weatherford College, Collin County College, Grayson County College, Brookhaven College, UT Arlington, Southwestern Adventist University, Baylor University, Hill College, and many others.
I have been taking my pre-reqs @ dcccd. I just wanted insight on theses schools, because one person tells me that they are good schools and they are accredited. I guess I am looking for answers on these for profit schools. I don't want to waste my time or money on scams. It is just very hard in getting in to those schools you mentioned. I think the problem with me is that I have such a passion to be a nurse I am willing to take the faster way into becoming a nurse, I know it's more expensive, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to get in a nursing program. I have seen theses colleges on TBON website, does that not mean they are accredited? And I also called UTA and the lady told me that at ITT Tech the nursing classes would transfer, but the pre-reqs would not. Can you please explain the accreditation part? Thank you for your advice.

I am applying for DNI Fall 2015 and it is accredited. Go look on their website. My mother also got her RN there. She was an LVN for 23 years. I know a total of 6 people that have gone to DNI and loved it. It doesn't matter where you go you have to make the best of the experience. No matter where you go ...When you go take your NCLEX state exam you are sitting in a room with students from all schools. You come out with the same applied science degree! I'm excited about DNI! I also just went on a tour and spoke with an admissions representative today. Loved the school and their labs.
Do your own research. Do not let people negatively impact your experience. This is off of DNIs website and I also saw all of their licensure today when I went on the campus tour. :
Dallas Nursing Institute holds institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), holds approval from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) for Title IV eligibility, is authorized to grant degrees by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), holds approval from the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges Division (TWC) to operate as a proprietary school in Texas, and its nursing programs are approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON).
Thank all of you for your comments, you all have been really helpful. I have looked into DNI and they told me I need to do my A&P II and Micro then I could possible start in fall 2015. I have not been out there to visit the campus, but I have heard good things about the school. Has anyone that y'all know received jobs after they pass the NCLEX? I called the human resource dept at Baylor and a couple more hospitals and they said that when it comes to the internship that they look at applicants with their BSN, which UTA said that the nursing classes will transfer. I am willing to go this route if it gets me to my dream in becoming a nurse. Does anyone know the class schedules, if you have to pay out of pocket outside your pell grants and loans? And how long is the program? I will be calling to set up a appt, but I am inpatient when it comes to answers, lol....

I'm not understanding why UTA says that the nursing classes do transfer?

The Commuter, If you don't mind me asking, where did you go to school? Do you have your BSN or just RN?
Have you already got all your pre-reqs finished? When you went to tour the school , what are the class schedules, if you have to pay out of pocket outside your pell grants and loans? And how long is the program? I will be calling to set up a appt, but I am inpatient when it comes to answers, lol...
The classes transfer to UTA. My mom will have her BSN in May from UTA. She received her RN from DNI. The questions that you need answers to are only one phone call away. Just call and ask. I'm shooting for the fall 2015 program. It's 16 months because I'll have all of my pre reqs. You can get fin. Aid & grants. I have the exact class schedule. And the time is M-F 8am-5pm.
I found out everything in a day. Just call.
