Hi, i am an RN from the Philippines, i have 1 year experience as a nurse.
just a quick question here. i plan to register in Ireland as a nurse under An Board Altranais, given this condition that i gained my registration and experience in the Philippines, would i still undergo examinations like NCLEX for US?
will my application be considered for registration or are there additional requirements i need to undergo EXCEPT for IELTS (already passed it)
any help from Filipino nurses that have gained registration in Ireland?
what are the next steps that must be done after a Filipino nurse gains An board registration?
Thank you for future replies..:loveya:

Getting registration in another country will not remove the need to take the NCLEX if applying to the US for licensure to be a RN. Are you planning on working in Ireland and/or do you have a work permit? If not then I can not see the point in registering with Ireland. Also be aware you may have problems finding an employer due to the EU requirements of own citizen then EU before rest of world
I think NCLEX only applies to US but not Ireland, therefore NCLEX is not required for Ireland. What I'm trying to imply is; does Ireland administer such Nursing Qualifying Examinations for overseas nurses seeking registration under Ireland, or do they just conduct special assessment or some sort of your qualifications? Thanks guys for any replies:cool:
Hard to say whether you will have to go through any adaptation process as it will depend probably on training and any experience. This may help but does talk about nurses going through adaptation plus you may still find it hard to get an employer and they have to start the work permit process

so that was the adaptation that I was hearing about. ok, i get it now. judging by my experience and country of origin, looks like i really have to undergo such. thank you so much for your quick reply...:loveya::redpinkhe:up:
You are welcome and good luck
