What's up!

  1. Hello, Everybody. This is new to me so bare with me. I am a firefighter/EMT-I from East, Tx and I am about to try out the world of nursing. I've been in the emergency field for 9 years and I am worried about nursing school. If anybody has any advice on how to calm my nerves and get my mind ready for nursing school, please feel free to write me. Nurses are amazing people and I can't wait to become one. I will always be a firefighter, but I also want to be a nurse. Take care everybody.:spin:

    Good luck to you.

If you can go into a burning building and save a life, then nursing school will be a breeze. Relax.

Burning buildings are a breeze, doing clinicals with long time nurses is scary. Hopefully they will be easy on me!

They won't be. We experienced nurses love to eat students and new grads for lunch don't you know? Search "Nurses Eat their Young" on this website and see what you get.

Well that made my nervousness go away. HA-HA! Actually I love to work with experienced nurses, I learn a lot more. I think I learned more in my ER clinicals with the nurses than on the ambulance with paramedics. Keep up the good work!

Hi there and welcome. I'm a former ER nurse (10 years) who also volunteers as a fireman/pre-hospital RN. Love both of the jobs. Very complimentary.
