Firstly let me Welcome you to the All Nurses Family!

You have 3 paths in order to become a nurse here in the USA. I'm not sure how things work in Canada.

Associates degree (ADN) Takes approximately 2 years (taken at a community college)
Bachelor's degree (BSN) Takes approximately 4 years (taken at a university)

There is also the diploma pathway. Takes approximately 3 years.
(I honestly don't know much about the diploma pathway. Use the search engine here at all nurses. This has been debated here many times. Good Luck to you!

FYI, if you wish to pursue a career in nursing you must be good in science and basic math.

You'll take classes in chem, microbiology, anatamy, physiology...to name a few.
Depending on which program path you take will determine what and how much.
I wish you the best in school.
    Take care.
    Welcome to allnurses!!!!!!!!!!!!
