Trying to get back to work!

  1. Hi all,
My name is Veronica, I graduated from nursing school in '96 as an LVN. I got a job soon after as a dispensing nurse for drug rehab patients. I did this till I went on maternity leave in '98 and haven't practiced since. I now have two kids 6 and 4 yr old and want to get back to work, I just don't know how to go about it! I've been out of practice for a while (I have kept my license current) and feel that no one out there would want to hire me. I will be doing a BLS course to get certified and was considering an IV course as well. Does anyone have any advise as to what other classes may help on my resume or perhaps any volunteer work I could possibly do to refresh my skills? Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

of course they will hire you!!
most hospitals have programs for nurses that have been out for a while, or new grad programs, that will help people pick up where need be. I don't know what kind of nursing you want to re-enter with , but most hospitals have programs for nurses like yourself.
