Toronto area newbie saying hello...

  1. Hello everyone,

I've been nursing since 1989, currently specialize in Paeds and Obstetrics... working on my diploma in Occ Health... whew!

Glad to be here... I've enjoyed reading the posts... nice to know that things aren't that much different between American and Canadian nurses. We all have pretty much the same issues! It's nice to know we're not alone!

    Hi, Welcome to the group.
I have been a nurse since 1966 and am still working. I lived in Agentia, Newfoundland for 3 years where my husband was stationed. As a nurse I was very impressed with the wonderful and helpful cooperation the Canadian Health Department provided me. I taught prenatal classes to the pregnant moms on the base. The Health Department provided free films and educational brochures for my classes. Every 10 weeks the expectant parents would pile into a Navy bus and we would visit the St. John's hospital where these mothers would be delivering their infants. The OB unit provided a little party and tour for these parents. It proved to be a very positive experience in the snowy land of Newfoundland.
    Good Luck on your career.
