1. Hello everybody, I'm a newbie 2 this site. I was looking for different experiences with NCLEX and found this site. I'm a new RN-grad (06') and have recently taken boards. I have been comforted to know that everyone tends to feel like they failed. I took mine on Monday (29th) and no results have posted. So I'm officially stressed-out. The computer shut-off @ 75. When I got home I looked through my text-books looking for answers and realized I had missed more than 13 questions. I have had many sleepless nights, just wondering/hoping. The hard thing about it all is that everyone has so much confidence in me. Many people have said things like, "You passed" and "I have good feelings about it." I on the other hand feel like there is so much pressure ! What if I didn't pass?

It is funny...I thought I failed the exam 2+ years ago....and similar to yours...the computer screen turned blue and informed me that I had completed the test...
I could not sleep at all...
I was so nervous when the they sent me a letter...
I open it...and I found out I had passed the exam...
The next day...I received my license
I am now working in the ICU....
I hope you will experience what I had gone through....
What I am trying to say is...I hope you will pass it!!!
Perhaps...those questions were a kind of experimental questions

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Can they really have experimental-type questions? I had a couple of questions that were off the wall. However, the ones I knew I missed weren't. Those were priority-type questions such as: What will you do first, what d/c teacing is included ect. I had 2 math questions, the first was really easy then it threw a really hard one @ me and after spending 5 min. I just couldn't figure it out. That was the hardest test I have ever taken, that's 4 sure!

I think everyone has those same feelings!!! I just took boards about 8 months ago and I also thought I failed, looked through my books for the answers and thought about how I would break it to my family that I had failed. Within the next few days I found out that I had passed and that out of the 75 questions I took, I must have known what I was talking about.
Stop questioning yourself to will find out soon! When you find out you passed, go out and celebrate for all the stress you have put yourself through. If you failed, then you hold your head up high and prepare for it again. Remember, you are going to be harder on yourslf than anyone else will be.
Let us know how you did and here is your early Congratulations!!

From what I know is...experimental questions are allowed...and they do count when it comes to whether you will pass or fail.
The computer was simply tested your ability to answer those questions...if you gave the correct answer...the next one is going to be general, you do not really want to see so many obvious answers...inasmuch as, it happened only when you kept on giving out the wrong this case, the computer screen would turn blue too,...and believe me...most likely than could fail the test.
Good luck and keep your finger crossed!

Sorry, I made a mistake...and did not know it when I hit the "send" key...those experimental questions DO NOT count at all...

Well I will keep my fingers crossed, and I will continue to pray, as I have been. The hardest part is waiting and waiting.......From what I was told our school sent transcripts last friday and it takes the BRN a little while to process them. There has only been five from our class that have taken boards, thankfully we're all in the same boat. We're all waiting for results.
Ortoluv-thanks It's good to hear that you felt the same way. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will let you know of my results, hopefully soon.
