I'm considering changing careers. For as long as I can remember I've been attracted to the medical field, spending many summers and early saturday mornings volunteering at hospitals and public health centers.
After a little detour after high school, I finally went to college(at 22) and decided for pactical reasons to go for a degree in IT. Don't get m ewrong the pay and the hours are great but after 5 years I'm really starting to hate what I do and I'm thinking about going to my 1st love.
Ultimately, I would love to be a doctor but right now it's not possible, so nursing seems a great way to get there. I'm getting cold feet to be honest, but life is too short and we only got one shot at it.
So I'm researching schools in my area, trying to figure out if I should go for RN first, then BSN or go for BSN directly.
Also trying to figure out how I will manage a FT job and nursing school and a baby at home....
Any advice, recommendation, testimonials would be welcome and appreciated.
