retired RN

  1. Hi, I recently retired after 30 years as a nurse. I found that I was bored, so I went back to work part time. I work one day as a volunter nurse at the local Charity Clinic and one day a week in a small hospital ICU. The problem is that I am canceled so much at the hospital that I find it difficult to retain my critical care skills. Does any one have any suggestions?

If after thirty years you're finding it difficult to retain your skills then my advice it to enjoy your retirement and forget about it and find another hobby.

Welcome to allnurses. I'm sure you have a lot to offer and hope your stick around to mentor people with your experience.
