I've been working for Home Health/Hospice for 8 months. I also am the nurse for the local jail (this is a small, rural county jail).
There aren't a lot of things I can do or authorize and I usually get the feeling that what ever complaints the inmate has, they are trying to get out early, more food or something 'extra' like an extra serving of food.
On the other hand, I don't want to get so jaded that I don't pick up on real concerns.
How are other nurses dealing with inmates?
Also would like to know if there are any lists for Home Health/Hospice nurses sharing the latest information about equipment, techniques, etc?
