PreADN in mississippi

  1. Hello everyone! I just registered on here and i wanted to introduce myself. I don't mind if you email me i like to meet new people. Anyways, i just declared my major PreADN at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. I plan to go all the way to get my BSN. If anyone has any advice to share with me about this wonderful profession, please do so. My screenname shares my feelings about the profession. I want to make anyone i come into contact with, wherever i work at, as comfortable as i can. I also plan to keep my compassion for people no matter what absurdities i come into contact with in the workplace, whether it be the patients or the workplace itself. I have read some of the threads under the roots of the nursing shortage. i knew people have always hated their jobs in one way or another, but some of the people on there were so negative; it is just unbelievable. Have a good day or night everyone, whenever you are reading this! bye bye.

Welcome to allnurses. I also love your name. Recently our nurse manager spoke at a staff meeting. She said there were two kinds of nurses. One was a real nurse, a caregiver and a patient advocate. The second was a refrigerator nurse, the kind who works to buy the refrigerator and to fill it. I don't think there are too many refrigerator nurses here...again welcome.

Your nurse manager sounds like a smart woman. I have several people in my classes who are, of course, PreADN students as well. They are going to be refrigerator nurses. All they care is that the program is short and the pay is good.. but i hate to tell them that the pay is not absolutely wonderful everywhere, and they better really love what they do or they will find themselves paying for more schooling in about a year to do something else. Or they will be flipping burgers. I am definitely in this to help people, i love people, especially the mean/grumpy ones b/c they need more love. And i have lots of love!!! Have a great day crystalbluern!! and everyone else have a great day too.
