pre nursing student

  1. hi,

I live in okc ok, I am wanting to know if if anyone out there knows of a good school here to get my rn. I have seen votech programs for lpn but I don't know if that will transfer to be a rn since it is a votech instead of college. I really want to be a rn, it it better to get a lpn first and go to work then get a rn? Or is it better to hold out a little longer for the rn. This is all new to me so I would be grateful for some advice. Also I was wondering how much longer is the rn program than the lpn. thanks alot

Welcome to the site! You might try looking through the Oklahoma Forum. There are going to be varying opinions about which educational path is best, but in large part it depends on your individual circumstances.

    Good luck.

Welcome to Allnurses. Sometimes if the wait is long the for RN it's in your best interests to get the LPN first. Most LPN to RN programs will accept votech education as long as it has the proper accredidations.

Don't know of any specific programs - but I'm sure others will. I went straight to my RN

I also went straight to RN - not familiar with OK - but look at OK forum.
    Good Luck
