Out of school 30 years and want to take LPN license test?

  1. Hi all, I have been out of school for 30 years :uhoh21: and want to take the License test for LPN in MN. Any ideas on study guides? Any other information I may need. Thanks much, Jan

You can't just go and take the test. You have to have permission from the board of nursing for MN to take the NCLEX-PN. They will only give permission after receiving proof that you have graduated from an accredited school.
Becoming a nurse after 30 years of being out of school is not impossible, but you need to find a school and apply.

Good luck. Check out our NCLEX discussion board here, there's lots of hints. I would presume you've mean you've graduated from LPN school 30 years ago and you're in contact with the BON of Minn. and receiving direction from them and are just looking for study guides???

Sorry I guess I did not explain myself clearly. I mean I have been out of Nursing school for 30 years and was told by the MN Board that I can just apply and take the test so I am looking for really really good study materials.

Sorry for missunderstanding you. As Tweety said the NCLEX forum is great.
