Nursing Student

  1. Hi! My name is Terika. I am a 22 yr.old undergraduate nursing student. I am enrolled in a BSN program. I attend school in BatonRouge, LA. This fall was my first semester of clinicals. It was quite an adjustment for me. So far I've done well. My main challenge has been nursing pharmacology. So if anybody out there has any pointers please feel free to share. I will take your advice. Hope to hear from you!!

Hang in there and study, study, study. Your mind is still young and you'll catch on quick. I went to school when I was in late 20's early 30's and it was hard after being out of school so long. Pharmacology can be a PIA but pay attention and like I said before, study. Good Luck, Howie

    Hey Terika,

Pharma is a very tricky subject - but it might be very interesting too.
I am very interested what exactly you have to learn in pharma - do you have to know all these biochemical pathways? Is it "common" (e.g. what is pharmacodynamic?) or "special" pharma (what is the effect of a special drug?) - or bothes?
I think it would be best to connect theory with practice - if you learn e.g. anticoagulants, you could remember a patient and his disease who got that medicament.
    Good luck!!
