  1. hi everyone, i am a current nursing student in alabama. I was trying to find out if their were any differences between the requirements for a nursing license in Alabama and New York; if so, what are they? Please write back as soon as possible.

You take the same NCLEX exam, no matter which state that you are going to be licensed in. NY does require two classes that can be done on-line and each costs about $15. One is on child abuse and the other on infection control. You can easily endorse your license over.

Most schools like their own credits, you may lose some by transferring. You would be better off finishing up where you are and then going if you can. Also, trying to find a spot in a program can be difficult. Otherwise, it is going to take up much longer to finish.

It is up to each school to decide whether or not they will accept your ohter hours. Nothing to do with the Board of Nursing on that one........
