New, with questions!

  1. Hi, just to introduce myself-I am a 22 year old mother of 3, wife of 3 1/2 years, and a fulltime student. I am just getting started and I have a LOT of questions reguarding if I am on the right track....doing what I need to do....I have decided I want to become an ob-L/D nurse, but I'm not sure where to go from here! I guess I shouldn't be a student with no clue of where to go, dont most students know the path they need to take. Other then the pre-reqs that I am now taking, I have no clue as to what I need to do. Anyone can help PLEASE reply!

Thank you in advance for your help!!

I'm new here also. I just gradutated from a LPN program and had no clue where I wanted to work until my last semester. Have you been accepted into a nursing program? That would be the first step and the competition in some states can be stiff. Some people take tech jobs while in school because it can give you a head start on getting a job when you graduate. Other than that I'm not sure there is much more to do at this point but study, study, study. Hopefully others with more experience will write also. Best of luck to you. Jules

Your best bet would probably be to go sit down with an advisor in the nursing program. They can help get you lined out, tell you about application and enrollment procedures. My best advice for now is to keep an open mind as far as your career path. As a nurse you'll have tons of options and L&D is only one of many.

Good luck! Basically the path to your goals is the same path to the RN. Perhaps you should talk to an addmissions person at the school to make sure you're on the right track to becoming an RN.
