New To This Site!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Hello to all fellow nurses, and nurses to be.

Just wanted to come on and introduce myself. Today was my first day discovering this site. I liked it, so I joined.

I'm a 26 year old LPN here in SC. I started out in 98 as a CNA. I started off as a CNA, because I wanted to get the feel of things. I eventually decided to go back to school for my LPN. God knows it was a struggle for me, but I did it!!!!!! :hatparty: .

Just this past summer, I went back for my ADN. I will graduate this August. I am very happy and excited about this. I am currently employed on an Orthopedic Floor. I know a lot of people don't like to work that floor. But, once you've been a ortho patient you don't have any problem caring for those patients. After graduation, I plan to stay on the Ortho Floor. However, I am interested in Cardiac, and OB/GYN.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to meeting many "nurse" friends. If you would like to know more about me, just send a message.

Welcome! I'm a RN from SC too - the Greenville area.

I've been a float nurse the last couple years - and ortho is one of my least favorite places to float. I don't mind the ortho type patients themselves...But whenever I work there, I continually give out prn pain meds the entire shift. Every time I try to start charting, the call bell rings and someone else wants their pain med....It's hard to get ahead or finish anything. (Maybe I just have bad luck! And sometimes floats are given heavier assignments...)

But good for you that you like ortho! We all have to find our nitch...

Congrats that the end is in sight and you will graduate this summer!
