New to the whole nursing idea

  1. Hi everyone. I'm new to this site (duh) and am actually enjoying it. I've recently moved to the mainland (Vancouver) from the island (Victoria) (BC, Canada) and have not had the opportunity to make ANY friends yet. I am also about to become an LPN student as of Nov. 20/06. Naturally I'm curious about everything but don't have anyone to talk to about anything. So I am relying on you to help me out and make me feel more comfortable about my career decision.
    1. Is the program REALLY intense?
    2. I am fascinated by the human body and how it works. I originally wanted to be a virologist or geneticist. Is this career a good stepping stone in the right direction?
    3. Anyone have any VITAL advice to give me about school? Work afterward?
I'm so excited to start school and get my stuff together. Anyone else from this area? Langley? Abbotsford?
Sorry if this sounds crazy. I'm just nervous and excited. I haven't had the opportunity to pick anyone's brains. Any info I may have left out, feel free to donate anything you feel I need to know but forgot to ask. I appreciate everything. Thanks.
