New to Forum

  1. hi, i'm a new lpn here in colorado and have a question:
    i may be moving to maine and was wondering if anyone knows what i need to do to change my license over to that state. i have searched under the board of nursing, but with no success. please advise, thx!

    I would call the BON and ask. They really are the only ones that can answer that.

    ooops, just glanced over my post and it's not worded correctly. here's my second attempt:
    i'm licensed in colorado, does anyone know if additional exams need to be taken to transfer a license to another state. i have tried the board of nursing site and tried calling but it seems my call gets lost in the world of automated replies, then disconnects.

    Usually all you need is the license, there aren't any additional exams.

    Some states might require CEU's though I'm not sure. I came from NC which doesn't require CEUs to Florida which does, and didn't have to have the CEUs. I had to have the CEUs by renewal time, but that was two years. Just paid a lot of money and got my license without drama.

    You might post to the particular state forum you want to move to and ask there, rather than here in the introductions, or to the general forum if you're just talking about any state.
