New to all nurses

  1. Hello everyone out there! I've been an LPN for almost 4 yrs now and have just moved back to Vancouver from Calgary. For having such a "nursing shortage" I have certaintly had difficulty finding employment. Although, I am particular in what type of facility I would like to work in. When I left Calgary I also left a wonderful job in a LTC facility that deals with dementia. I absolutely loved it there. There are plently of jobs here in Vancouver in the acute setting but that's not for me. As it turns out though I have a interview today at a LTC facility that I believe is part time. Hey, it's a start! I hope it goes well. I still talk with my best friend that I met in nursing school. She lives in Calgary and I miss her terribly but we talk every other day about nursing issues. I can't wait to be able to talk with her about my job - it's been 5 long months since I've worked!! I'm so anxious to get back to nursing. She's the only one that understands the the issues and ups and downs of our careers. I'm hoping to talk with all of you who need advice etc or just need to vent about your day! And boy do we need to vent sometimes!!
