This site seems like a great way to meet other RNs and a great place for help and answers. I am an older generation new nursing grad. I'm not sure if I made the right decision, but I needed a career change. I went straight into the OR after graduating and passed boards a couple of months later. I am trying to get the hang of things, but there is so much information and so many things going on it is hard to grasp everything. I would appreciate any help for someone new to the OR. The orientation seems so short, that I'm not sure if I'm ready to be on my own yet. Just a little intimidated by it all.

You sound exactly like myself 15 years ago, and exactly like just about every new grad in nursing about to be on their own. Good luck to you. Just use your resources and don't be afraid to ask questions. I hope you find this site supportive, especially the OR Nurses section.
