Mature Age Nursing Student from Australia

  1. Hi, I thought I would join Allnurses, I've really enjoyed reading some of the postings. My name is Vanessa, I am 41, and in my final year of studying for my Bachelor of Nursing. I work part time and have a family. Very excited about entering my last year. Unsure which area I would like to specialize in... I am just enjoying the experience. This is the first time I have ever joined a forum/discussion site.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to all.

    Hi,

Mature age? I am just starting at 41, well, not quite, I did just finish my CNA. Welcome. I tend to haunt the "rural" and "public health" forum's. That is where I am wanting to end up. I start on the RN path the 6th. Am really looking forward to it.

    Happy New Year, :hatparty:

Hi Sarah, yes age is only how we define ourselves, and we shouldn't be limited by a number. Congrats on the decision to become an RN. I've enjoyed the learning process so far, good luck with the adventure.

I am also in Australia - Brisbane, great to see a fellow Aussie on the site. I am new to the site - just registered today! Good luck with your final year. After alomost 20 years of nursing, specialising in oncology, I can honestly say that I have never regretted my choice.
