K1 about to apply for NCLEX

  1. hello there!! im a new user... just logged in now and was inspired by your discussions...i would like to ask what am i going to do once i get to US as K1 (to marry my husband-to-be who is also an asean-us citizen). Shall I immediately apply for NCLEX without SSN/EAD? or shall I wait for them before I apply for my own advantage? pls give me tips what books to study..Thank you so much in advance...godspeed :-)

    I would definitely apply to a state now for licensure, since you are a foreign-trained nurse this can take anywhere from approximately 4 to 6 months. You do not register for NCLEX until you get what they call an ATT letter from the state which gives you permission to sit for the NCLEX exam.

    You won't have to complete Visa Screen, but several states do have a requirement of TOEFL.
