Just introducing myself...

  1. Hi everyone!

As you may have guessed from my user name, I'm Mandy. I graduated from nursing school (ADN) in December 2003. One week before I graduated, I gave birth to my first child, a girl who is named Ethne (she is in my avatar). My last semester of nursing school was pretty rough considering how very pregnant I was...and I battled gestational diabetes and preterm contractions from 30 weeks on. But...I made it!

I took NCLEX March 22nd and passed! Ethne has been the focus of my life since she was born (and will continue to be), but I do plan to work part time after she turns 6 months old.

My husband Clay and I have been married for 3 years....together for 6 years. He is a wonderful guy...very supportive of me and I would never have made it through nursing school without him.

We live in Van Buren, Arkansas(near the Oklahoma border), but I'm originally from Toledo, Ohio. We've been in Arkansas since we married, but lived in Mississippi for 3 years before we moved here. I think I will always consider Ohio my "home"...but I doubt I'll ever live there again. Anyhow...this is getting longer than I intended, so I guess I'll wrap it up.

Congrats on passing your NCLEX! That is such a great accomplishment. I graduated from nursing school in 2001 and took my NCLEX that July. I was so scaried and thought I didn't pass, thank God I did! Unfortunately, some of my classmates had to repeat the test once or twice until they passed.
What field of nursing are you interested in? I'm a neonatal nurse.
