You remind me of when I first entertained notions of becoming a nurse. I began collecting required prerequisites for nursing school and was on a wait list for two years, then finally graduated nursing school after a total of three years as a student due to the fact that I had young ones to care for practically alone since their father traveled all week on his job. MIL and my mom helped a lot babysitting so I could study. Good luck!

Yes, it will take me about 3 years because I cant be accepted until next year due to more classes needed to be taken and space available. Unfortunately, I'm a newly single mom to a 4 year old and 1 year old and this circumstance has led me to pursue a career in nursing. Thankfully, I have a very very supportive family willing to babysit anytime I need them It's going to take a lot of dedication and studying time to get through schooling, but I know I can do it.

That is so great that you have family near by to help you. I have a 4 year old boy and a 9 month old daughter and in my first year of nursing school!! It is difficult to balance being a mom and nursing student. But it is do-able!! It is only a short time in your life, and your kids will benefit from your commitment. Plus you are showing them a good example. Good Luck!
