Hello all -
I was directed to this great site from another bulletin board I frequent and find it has a ton of wonderful info!
I live in southern OR and have reached that magic age (40) where I have started to think about a new direction. I need a sense of purpose.
I am considering an ADN or BSN as that new path. I just really confused with all the info out there and whether I could really make it. I'm not worried about the classes as I already have a 2 year Business degree and hope that some of those courses will transfer. I'm worried about on the job. I just can't think of anything worse than messing up when it comes to peoples health/life.
Any on e you have these feelings and how did you get past them to know you were doing the right thing?
Thanks for letting me ramble......especially as a newbie!

Welcome to Allnurses!
It is indeed an awesome responsibility. There are many checks and balances, but I worry every day about making an error, about missing something important, of getting sued. It's just something that's always in the back of my mind but certainly not a crippling thought. You can never let your guard down in nursing.
