hi everyone

  1. Good afternoon everyone. I am so excited to find this site I don't even know how I got here but I did. I just decided that I'm ready to get back to school and this site looks so helpful, I read a posting and felt like it was put there for me. I'm a female who just turned 22 and I have been out of school for a little more than a year. I had a rough year health wise and now that I'm physically better I'm ready to get back to school. I took the Entrance exams for and LPN school in FT. Lauderdale and passed successfully so now I'm just waiting to see if the next session has space. I am so excited to have this new start! good luck to me and hello to all of you!

    hi, timeless22!

my mother went to school to become an lpn (actually an lvn out here in california) at the age of 51. she worked as an lpn/lvn until she was 68 in icu and ccu. you will learn just about all the same basic nursing fundamentals that rns learn. i'm glad to hear that your health is better. you will need that as a nurse. nursing can be very physical. try to be patient and wait for your place in a class. the wait is worth it.

please check out the nursing student forums on allnurses. you will find lots of help (weblinks) and many issues of common concern to nursing students get discussed there. here is a list of the nursing student forums: https://allnurses.com/forums/f196/

see you on the forums! welcome to allnurses!
