Hi everyone

  1. Hello everyone i am new to the site. I have been a LPN for 5 years now. I really enjoy being a nurse. I am a charge nurse in a LTC. But I have had a new developement come up and would like some advice before things even think about happening. There is a new aide I work with we get along great, he does his job and does it well. We are both single. And I think he likes me. I like him but the idea of dating someone i am in charge of i don't like. I have been living my life as a nurse and that takes all my spare time. In my mind and beliefs I feel that I shouldnt get involved and just remain friends like I do with all my staff. But the other side that has been alone for along time says go for it. Any suggests? Thanks and have a good day.

Welcome to the site! I'm no relationship expert, so I'll hold off on giving any advice there.

    Welcome. Good luck to you.

I don't think those kinds of relationships ever have a happy ending and I would advice against it. However, you can't tell your heart who to love and be attracted to, so sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and follow your heart.

But like Eirc, I'm not the expert either.

    Good luck!

Welcome to allnurses.com! Nice to have you with us. I have seen a few people at work date; results varied.

When you can, drop by the LPN/LVN Forum at https://allnurses.com/forums/f99/ and the LTC Forum at: http://allnures.com/f22/ .

You might check with your Policy Manual and see if there is a restriction about supervising someone that you have an outside relationship with. Many places do, so you might want to start there.
