Hello to everyone

  1. Good morning to everyone,

I am just a new member, i just want ask for some advise regarding my situation. I am an RN but unfortunately i haven't practiced by profession for 10 years. I am employed in one of the company here in Makati as an office staff. With the need of nurses these times, I am planning to pursue my nursing career. Is it still possible for me? As I inquire to some hospitals, hospital adminitrations are requiring me to take IV therapy training before I could get in a a trainee. I just want to ask for some advise and know what would be the best step for a start. I hope I am still welcome on this field.

Thank you so much and best regards to everyone.

    Happy Holidays!!

Of course you're still welcome here, even if you're not a practicing nurse at the moment. You must take a refresher course in most states if you have not practiced clinical nursing for five or more years. This is in my state, North Carolina. States have different situations, different laws/bylaws governing the particular state board of nursing in the state of which you wish to practice. Best way to find out: contact your state board of nursing online or via phone or email. Good luck

Yes. in addition to the refresher courses Nurse Angel mentioned - some facilities offer training for persons who have been away from active practice for a period of time...it is similar to new hire orientation. Good Luck and welcome back
