I hope to get some very usefull info from this site. After 20 years, I have decided to go back to school for my BSN. I did not enjoy school for my ASN because it lacked the info needed for actual bedside nursing. I have started back and it appears to be the same old thing- writing papers about nursing theory, and not helping with direct patient care. Isn't it time that we break down nursing school to have classes for those who love being at the bedside verses those who never wanted to care for a patient in the first place?
Hopefully I will get thru this program, but is there anyone else out there that feels the way I do? Cabo!sanlucas

RN to BSN programs are not geared towards bedside nursing. It's presumed you have that already from your ADN program and experience as an RN. Your ADN program let you down it sounds like.

Welcome to allnurses and hope you enjoy the site. Don't give up on your BSN program. In the end, if nothing else, you will have your BSN from it. Not too many programs today really give positive energy to nursing students.
