Getting enough Money in Antarctica to train as a Mc Millian Nurse

  1. Hi I have a year to go here at Halley Research Base in Antarctica, so am now really planning my next move to becoming a Mc Millian Nurse.

Yes I realise its not quite the convential way to save money to train as a Nurse...but it beats Mc Donalds.

So I will arive back next April and would like some advice on how to reach my goal please.

I have worked in a Trauma ward before I left for the Antarctic as a Auxillary and have also worked whilst being a VSO teacher in a Kiribati hospital; so I have some idear what I am getting into and not just romanticising it.

So any advice would be great at this point.

    Thanks Craig in Antarctica

Hi Craig. I have to say you're the first poster I've seen from Antartica.

What's a Mc Millian Nurse, if you don't mind me asking.

Hi ya Tweety...we have the most amazing Aroura outside at the just off to lie on the sheep skin rug under the stars.....but yes Mc Millian Nurses care for the terminally ill.
Thank for the reply...back to the stars

Boy, I bet you have some interesting stories about Antartica. How long have you been there? What are the temps like?

    Welcome to allnurses!

MacMillan nurses are a British thing. GREAT nurses. My mother in law is one.
