FEEDBack Please

  1. Hello my name is Laurie,

I know that this is a Website for nurse, but I am not a nurse. But that is my goal to become a nurse someday. I am 18 years old, with a husband and a little 6 month old baby girl. I became pregnant when I was 16yrs. old, had her when I was 17,and married when I was 17. I have had alot of sickness in my family (cancer) and have know alot of nurses (mostly hospice nurses). And have volenteered and a Care Center were I am from. I loved helping and am very compasionate and am willing to work hard. As of now I am working to get my GED and WHEN I achieve that goal I want to take CNA courses and then work my way up. I know I have alot of hard work ahead of me but I am willing to take it on. Please give me some feed back or support . Thank you for reading this.

Laurie, You have the right idea!! Small obtainable goals--one at a time. I had children before I became a nurses aid, then got my associates degree in nursing, and now have a BSN!!! My children now are in college or have graduated from college with descent jobs. I think it is wonderful for our children to see how important school is. We are their role models. Believe in yourself and work hard and you can obtain all your goals!! Best of Luck!!

    Hi Laurie!!

Formulating a Plan is the first step to success and you already are working on it! Great job!

This is the best place to get encouragement for me. I'm doing my pre-nursing courses right now and will be eligible for nursing school next Spring. I waited until I was 44 to start my journey. I wish I would have done it at your age, you are smart to start young!

Good luck on your GED. You can do it! Here's a little inspiration for you... my Mom never graduated from high school..... went for her GED in her 30's just because she wanted to prove to herself she could do it. Went back to school in her 60's and is now the sales VP for a large telecommunications.
company. If you have the will, there is a way to follow your dreams!

Go For It!!! You CAN do it!

Lori...I know it seems really tough but you can do it!!! Come on over to the students section. We are having a discussion about going to school with young kids and there is all kinds of information there.

I am so grateful that I found this site. It is going to be invaluable to me when I go back to school in the fall. Stick around, you will learn a lot!
